Skype Social Media

Skype Types

For this project, I created a dozen user archetypes for the brand to share as images on Facebook and Twitter. (Note: the News Anchor is not autobiographical.)

View fullsize These folks are easy to spot; they’re the ones leaning into the webcam and talking a little too loudly.
View fullsize They look at every screen but the one with your face on it. You know this because you can see them.
View fullsize From the waist up, this person looks great; the smile is mandatory but the pants are optional.
View fullsize They’ve expanded their operation beyond photographs--you never know where they’ll turn up next.
View fullsize Brace yourself for motion sickness. Videos calls with this person are more like walking tours of their home.
View fullsize Everyone loves animals, but they rarely hold up their end of the conversation.
View fullsize This person notices everything--whether you got a haircut, lost weight, or need to iron your shirt. You might want to clean your room before your call.
View fullsize This person sees every group call as a power struggle for screen time.
View fullsize Skype’s a great way to stay in touch with your favorite little one, but don’t expect them to sit still for long.
View fullsize This person has no idea what you just said--they’re too busy adjusting the screen, volume and lighting.
View fullsize This person adds an element of danger to each call by placing their device in precarious positions.
View fullsize You don’t have to ask this guy if he works out--he’s more than happy to demonstrate.

Skype Flowchart

Contrary to what people say every day, "Skype" is not a verb. Sure, you can make a video call on Skype, but they offer lots of services. I created this little flow chart to raise awareness of all their products (and provide myself with an opportunity to get paid for asking "Are you wearing pants?").
